Abstract
If You Ever Find Yourself is a black speculative fiction collection centering black women and their unique perspectives, fears, and desires. Each story explores obstacles black women must face in worlds similar to ours, where the laws of the court as well as nature have gone a step too far. Characters grapple with the weight of racism and white supremacy coupled with the evolution of capitalism while trying to grow as individuals with personal desires. These stories also examine the intimate and often life-affirming connection that sister girls share and use to survive.
