The ePublications of Emerging Medical Research Scholars (eMRS) is an online student-driven medical research publication devoted to publishing research reports submitted by students in training in the health-care field. As a publication run by students who have leadership roles in the editorial board, it is housed in the University of Kentucky’s UKnowledge repository and is open access without publishing or page charges. Articles may be submitted throughout the year and are reviewed by a motivated student reviewer panel supported by a large number of faculty experts who volunteer as associate editors. Rapid processing by the student editorial board aided by faculty in editorial positions accelerates the timeline from submission to publication.
While serving as a platform to showcase the work of our emerging scholars, eMRS also serves to train the student to professionally critique medical literature submitted for publication. The types of articles eMRS publishes include:
- Original research reports
- Review articles
- Technical reports
- Case reports
- Editorials
- Opinion pieces
