Abstract
The Kentucky River District is a rural region comprising eight counties that face significant barriers to maternal healthcare, including limited obstetric services, transportation challenges, and long travel distances to birthing facilities. These factors contribute to poorer maternal and infant outcomes, higher rates of preterm birth, low birth weight, and delayed prenatal care initiation compared to state and national averages. To address disparities, the Kentucky River District Maternal Health and Navigation Program proposed a mobile maternal health clinic designed to deliver prenatal and postpartum services directly to local communities.
