Description

April 8, 1926, the Southern Appalachian National Park Commission recommended approximately 70,618 acres of land in the State of Kentucky as a National Park in its report to the Secretary of the Interior.

May 25, 1926, the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives established and dedicated this tract of land in the State of Kentucky known as the Mammoth Cave Region as a public park for the benefit and enjoyment of the people.
