Description
The mandate of IBPGR is to further the study, collection, documentation, evaluation and utilization of the genetic diversity of useful plants for the benefit of people throughout the world. Between 1974, when IBPGR was established as an autonomous centre in the CGIAR system, and 1988, IBPGR has been responsible for ensuring the collection and conservation of significant genetic resources to the world's germplasm collections.
