Description

The energy concentration of roughages, which is an important quality feature from a farm management point of view, decisively influences the performance that can be attained with ruminants. The effects of quality changes in the roughage on feed amounts and cost can be determined by way of quantification. A set of priorities for the available feeds, which helps to cut feed cost at the planning stage, can be derived at the same time by comparing energy con-cent.ration and the price o( feeds.
