Director: Dr. Charlotte Peterson

The Center for Muscle Biology (CMB) was formally established in June 2008 to support and integrate basic, clinical and translational research on muscle throughout the University of Kentucky. The mission of the CMB is to catalyze research projects, strengthen grant applications to facilitate extramural funding success, and serve as a hub of interdisciplinary collaboration by engaging students, early-stage and senior investigators of various scientific backgrounds in research to understand mechanisms underlying the regulation of muscle structure and function and the impact it has on physical activity and chronic disease.
