Description
South Strong, LL.B.
"B. B. Special"
Jackson, Kentucky
Member Henry Clay Law Society, Union Literary Society, and University Masonic Club.
Never did Jackson have his equal. Fatally infected with the curse of Bloody Breathitt, once did he threaten the life of poor little Teddy Bear Vaughn, and since then no one has dared to cross him in any way. May God grant that he gets back to the hills of his birth without adding another notch to his gun barrel.
-The Kentuckian, 1910
------------------------------------
South Strong (April 5, 1879* - November 29, 1939) was born in Breathitt County, Kentucky to Greenville Trimble Strong and Elvora Cecelia Cardwell. Strong was initially a school teacher before attending the College of Law. He practiced law in Breathitt County and was, at one time, the county attorney.
*Strong's birthdate is listed as July 23, 1880 on his tombstone and FindAGrave page. However, his World War I draft registration has his birthdate listed as April 5, 1879. We have chosen to go with this date as it comes from a source most likely to have been filled out by Strong himself.
