Description
In the grazing systems it is important to know the different methods for grass production with the objective of estimating the availability of pasture during the different seasons so as to adjust stocking rates and to make the necessary provision for the food shortage periods. There are several factors which influence pasture production, among them : type of soil, livestock, fertilization (Jimenez et al., 1976), climatology (Granda, 1981) and livestock management (Olea, 1982) are the most important ones. This work studies the influence of some of these factors under the environmental conditions of Southwest Spain.
