Description

Clover-grass silages have been made in tower silos using formic acid or a formaldehyde +formic acid mixture (67: 33) as additives. Untreated controls were included. The storage losses were recorded and the feeding values of the different silages compared in experi­ments with growing heifers. Both additives decreased storage losses and improved the feed efficiency measured as consumption of metab­olizable energy per kg weight gain.
