Description
In the hilly region where nitrogen was applied early in spring and just after the intensive growth phase of the grass sward the production of dry matter was more or less the same. If nitrogen is applied in autumn, especially in the case when the soil will be frozen very soon, it comes to higher volatile losses of nitrogen. It is very similar in the case that the influence of nitrogen is longer than one month. The crude protein content of the grass sward and also its production were highest when the fertilizer was applied just before the intensive growth in spring.
