Description

Procedures have been worked out for establishing persistent meadows by seeding in liman areas with saline soils and so far low productivity. On several seeded grassland plots, forage plants, . particularly Lotus corniculatus L., were found to undergo self-seeding generative renewal parallel with vegetative regeneration. The effect of that generative renewal of plants on liman meadows proved to be one of the major factors contributive to productive persistence of seeded grassland. Extraordinary effectiveness was ob-. tained from seeding Lotus corniculatus into experimental plots.
