Description
On a meadow established in 1965 on excessively moistened peat-muck soil with a low mucking degree, sward renovation measures were carried out in the period 1971-1973. For this purpose, ploughing and rotavation were executed and compared with the treatment without tillage, at 4 treatments of a differentiated NPK fertilization and NPK + Cu + Mg fertilization. The effect of the tillage measures mentioned, jointly with sowing, on a differentiation of the botanical composition of the sward (and its yielding) was insignificant. On the other hand, fertilization proved to be significant for both botanical composition and yielding of sward. A fertilization x tillage interaction has been found for some species, first of all for Alopecurus pratensis and Taraxacum officinale. It was fertilization which was responsible for both quantity and quality of yields, while the tillage proved to be of minor importance.
