Description
The main trends in scientific research for opening up for forage production the arid regions of the USSR include: efficient utilization of pastures, surface improvement of natural forage lands by sod-seeding and fertilization, comprehensive use of local wild-growing forage plants for undersowing and sod-seeding to improve pastures, as well as use of local water resources and artesian wells to organize intensive forage production in desert areas.
