Description

Silver Charm won the first two jewels of the Triple Crown, the Derby and Preakness, in 1997. He lost in the final leg of the series in the Belmont Stakes by less than a length to Touch Gold.

During his 4-year-old campaign he traveled to Dubai and became the second American-bred horse to win the world’s richest race, the Dubai World Cup. He retired from racing with nearly $7 million in winnings.

Initially retired to stud at Three Chimneys Farm in Midway, Kentucky, he was sold for stud duty in Japan in 2004. He has recently returned to the United States and currently resides at Old Friends, a thoroughbred retirement facility in Georgetown, where he is attracting many visitors.

Silver Charm was U.S. Champion 3-Year-Old Colt in 1997 and was inducted into the U.S. Racing Hall of Fame in 2007.

He descends on both sides of his pedigree from the Darley Arabian.
