SPARC (Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition) and the World Bank hosted this kickoff event for Open Access Week 2013. It began with a panel discussion about redefining research impact. There was also the announcement of the winning nominations of the Accelerating Science Award Program (ASAP) by Elizabeth Marincola (Chief Executive Officer of the Public Library of Science), Robert Kiley (Head of Digital Services, Wellcome Library at the Wellcome Trust), and Alex Kozak (Policy Analyst, Public Policy and Government Relations at Google).
