Robert Edwin Hatton, Jr. (November 15, 1907 - December 13, 1984) was born in Glasgow, Kentucky to Robert Edwin Hatton and Harriet McFarland. Hatton taught in a high school in Greenup, Kentucky before attending the College of Law. He practiced law in Louisville. Hatton served as counsel for the Kentucky Bankers Association and the Kentucky Tax Research Association. Additionally, he served as chairman of the Kentucky Unemployment Insurance Advisory Council during the Clements administration. Hatton was a veteran of World War II and he was appointed commanding officer of Kentucky's first Marine Corps Reserve unit after the war. He married twice--his wives were Julia Anne Ross (m. 1928) and Lou Moody (m. ?).
