William J. Wigginton (August 17, 1908 - July 10, 1963) was born in Rumsey, Kentucky to George Washington Wigginton and Stella Vanover. Wigginton received an A.B. from Transylvania College in 1931. He taught history at Western Kentucky State Teachers College after graduation for one year. Wigginton then worked for the Kentucky State Reformatory and Eastern State Hospital while attending the University of Kentucky College of Law. He began practicing law in Owensboro in 1936. Wigginton served as Owensboro city prosecutor from 1937 to 1945. He then served as Daviess County Attorney. Wigginton was appointed master commissioner of the Daviess Circuit Court in 1958 and held that position until his death. He married Elizabeth Rider in 1933.
