Description
The present yields of meadows and pastures in the CSR are not sufficient to correspond with the needs of the advanced animal production. The varieties of species in some stands are not suitable, the stands are thin with a high proportion of weed infestation. Most frequently clovers are missing, particularly white clover. Therefore, the quality of fodder is average, there is a shortage of the energy component and often or DCP as well. The renovation of grass stands by tillage, arable farming for the period of 1-2 years and the subsequent establishment of grass stands are implemented on more fertile soils with sufficient thickness of topsoil and in areas where there is no danger of erosion. On slopes, shallow and stony soils in the zones of sanitary water protection, the renovation and additional sowing in sward arc carried out with the help of special sowing machines, as well as during the liquidation of non-cultural stand or hardy weeds when Roundup, Staran and other herbicides are used.
