Description
Temperature and photoperiod are the main environmental factors affecting flower induction in Poa pratensis (Heide, 1980). As all tillers have a juvenile stage, seed yield depends on both number and size of tillers at the end of the previous growth season. Furthermore, most of the seeds are produced on aerial shoots from the rhizome system (Borg, 1974). Thus, the aim of the experiment was to examine the influence of temperature and photoperiod on growth and development of various ecotypes.
