LIS Volumetric Water Content (VWC) Data herein was retrieved at a gridded resolution of 0.01° across a domain that begins at a lower left latitude and longitude of 37.20° and -83.60° and ends at an upper right latitude and longitude of 37.43° and -83.21°. This domain was developed such that it encompasses a majority of landslide occurrences related to the July 2022 extreme rainfall event studied. 

LIS data was estimated through assimilation of NOAH 3.6 Land Surface Model-based soil moisture estimates and SMAP L3SMP_E Satellite-Based Soil Moisture Observations.

The date range over which the LIS data is avaiable is 07/15/2022 to 08/05/2022. This date range was selected as it encompassed the July rainfall event.

Data from LIS is available at these depths across the discussed date range:
- 10 cm
- 30 cm
- 60 cm
- 100 cm

Each respective grid point in the associated excel files represents LIS-based VWC estimated at a resolution of 0.01° (~1 km).
